Following the UK launch, RE announces the home market pricing. (Note a lakh is 100,000 so the Indian on the road price is about £2K GBP).

Eicher Motors on Tuesday expanded its motorcycle range in the country with the launch of 'Continental GT' priced at Rs 2.05 lakh (on-road Delhi).

Royal Enfield, the Chennai-based arm of the company, currently sells various models including Bullet, Classic and Thunderbird.

"Our ambition is to make sure that our motorcycles are accessible so we took pains to keep the prices down," Lal told reporters here.

ok 4K for a boat ride? , still a lot if we exclude car tax etc ,,

$11000 out here and we can also buy a 650 BMW for $7500 go figure, just a case of go screw the Aussies. I hope they don't sell out here because if they do it proves the Aussies deserve to be screwed

It seems we are being ripped off a little in the UK. I also noted the newly released Yamaha SR400 is priced at £5,199 so the same price as the Conti. Now the Yamaha has been in constant production for around 30 years so I make that severely overpriced with no development costs for Yam to recoup. I wonder how many more units Yam and RE would sell if the Conti and SR were around the £4k mark?
