Oh and yes, the decompressor and solenoid are functioning perfectly- after replacing the sprag clutch and gears, the bike now starts on the first cycle, literally on the button.

Hi Tom... Ouch!! I take it the replaced the sprag, both gears and the wee needle bearings and washers - or did you get more for your 300 bucks? And, importantly, has the unnerving clunk gone... I hope so!!

Monglet, sorry to burst your bubble but I doubt you will get much sympathy from the importer because the dreaded sprag has driven many to despair on the earlier models and very few got help from the factory. Might be different with the UCE particularly when they didn't have a kick starter, but I wouldn't hold my breath
