Hey out there , I have a 1995 Bullet 500 with electronic ignition.
It is the double bronze bush type (skinny housing ) with a grease nipple , I over pumped the last time and pushed it's oil seal out which rubbed and was replaced and dont want to do the same again . With the engine ticking over ..how many pumps on the grease gun does everybody else do with this housing .
There is no word of it in the handbook or workshop manual , what if it pumps out into the timing chest as well , yellow grease and engine oil dont mix .
The bushes have only done 2,000 miles so thats the last time I greased it Before I fitted the seal so I could see it ozzing out ..wiped it then fitted seal and set the ignition timing ..as I dont want to pull it all out to see if I have pumped the right amount but I'll be dammed if I can remember how many pumps ?
