What did I say???? Heat! Seat should be black sides, grey check top. flat overall profile (that is, no hump at the rear) and you can get the whole thing from our Hosts or maybe just the cover from Leighton's of Birmingham. Google them for a tel number.

Mark:- cheers for your help, Now the legs are of the bike i can get on with ally welding the mudguard lug, how does the stanchon come off the leg? have tried pulling and turning must be an easy way to do it? cheers.

The centre stud in the bottom of the fork knocks up inside the leg. Put the nut back on to prevent the threads burring. It's an interference fit so ideally you should heat the alloy at the bottom of the leg to get it to expand, you don't want to remove too much metal here, it needs to be tight to keep the oil in!

Mark m, have you got the length of a crusader sport push rods? (minus adjusters)do you know if they should both be the same lenght as each other or do they differ? I have one which has the adjuster screwed all the way in to the rod while the other one(which goes to the inlet rocker)nearly screwed all the way out. cheers guys for the great work.

Guru, I haven't got the lengths to hand but Crusader pushrods are different, one should be about half an inch longer!

Mark: if you do get hold of the rod lengths please let me know, also which is the longer of the two?. For a quick update on the crusader, the head is presently having two now fins fitted (both on the R/H side), thats after a vapour blast then its going over to the local head shop for a hardened valve seat to be fitted after a valve guide check will stick new springs and collets in it, while thats going on will check out the piston ring gaps (which is on +40 at the minute)It started out looking like a crusader now it looks like a flying flee with no wheels. cheers
