I suggest you try this question at the RealClassic Message Board both because there is quite a lot of talk about the W650 there and also this is really an Enfield site (although occasional lapses seem to be tolerated!)

I owned a W650 for about 5 years and covered 35000 trouble free miles on it. It is a great bike with a really strong motor. For a while it shared my garage with my EFI Woodsman but I sold it because I kept choosing to ride the Enfield and it wasn't getting enough use. If you buy one you won't regret it, but a long stroke single does it for me more that a twin. If you want to cover miles on a motorway, them it's a better bet, but who wants to be on a motorway! Good luck with whatever you decide.

Gutless and underwhelming in my view - having tried the 650 and 800. Better off with the Hinckley bonnie for build quality, performance, style and road holding - plus much better residuals and ease of sale.

A troll who has had 3 hinckley bonnies from a 790cc and an 865cc to a Thruxton and taken the bonnie to sicily from glasgow. Yes a troll. A troll who has hd a classic 500 bullet and now a woodsman. Enfield or hinckley long before a w650 anytime. Trolls are for halloween not xnas.

Sorry sofiaspin but I don't agree with any of your comments regarding the w650. Not owned mine for very long but at the moment I'm very impressed. BTW I also own a few other bikes. Mr h,try lonely bobs forum, there's a few W650 owners on there.

Pale rider I would be the last to criticise anyones choice but I do object to be being called a troll. Engage brain before keyboard is a good plan. I still hold true to the view that Hinckley bonnies are a much better bike than a W650 at all levels, which is the opinion asked for by the OP.
