The red metallic colour matches to a recent Peugeot paint, Palmador Red (not too sure about the spelling there!) or alternatively go to Rs BikePaint, they have a match database and their stuff is really good but not cheap!

Guru, there will be no exact match from a car manufacturers paint colours. Most of them have many variations on their own colour, and tend to create colours unique to their vehicle. RS paints have identified the colour for you, and should be able to supply matching paint for you. Why don't you simply buy from them, assuming you are in the UK, after all they have given you the details for free? Alternatively have you spoken to our hosts? Failing that try Faircharm in Leicester.

Hi guru
my information is that the RE club suggest BL Blaze (16/EMA) as a match for Polychromatic Blaze.

Presto:- thanks, i don't mind a using a different red than the one which RS bike paints recommend (Polychromatic Blaze) As i don't know what this red looks like (what i could do with is someong to give me a similar car colour so can check Poly Blaze. I might even change to a different shade of red which i like better, I was thinking of a Peugot red or the Jaguar (Italian racing red)Has anyone got a close red car colour to the Polychromatic Blaze. Cheers guys

Sorry, I may be missing something - but BL Blaze (16/EMA) is a car colour that is supposed to match the RE Poly Blaze.

The original Royal Enfield polychromatic colours varied from day to day depending who was doing the spraying, the red colours were applied using a gold base coat followed by coloured lacquer, the blue was applied using a silver base coat and coloured lacquer, the colour varied by being, 1/ mixed thinner, 2/ thinner coats applied, 3/ different amounts of coats applied.

this information was given to me two years ago by one of the original paint sprayers who worked for Royal Enfield in the 50s 60s. I met him outside a cafe one afternoon, I came out and he was stood inspecting by bike as I walked up he said Super Meteor that, I thought here we go I bet he had one when he was younger, but no he used to work for Royal Enfield and we had a real interesting and informative chat, the reason for the info on colour was because I asked if he thought my bike was close to the colour of the 50s when it was made. If it works I will try and post a picture of the bike.
