i have now done over 300 miles on the xl1200x harley and its a fine machine returning around 65mpg at running in speeds of 60mph the only thing ive found what i don,t like is the plastic clips that hold the battery cover on ,the battery cover is made of steel and the clips are plastic so i have had the drill out and made a superb panel lock didnt want a flappy pannel!!the rest of the machine is pure quality and it has bags of grunt compared to the diesel enfield or any enfield probably ever built but im still an enfield man as well!! although when my owners club affiliation runs out next year i won,t rejoin not my kind of club and yes i did run a branch who sung my praises in the gun mag and then immeadiately stopped sending me emails of their events what does that tell you? anyway i keep in touch with some of the lads the honest reliable ones ,i am now a member of hog and i get my discount from the harley dealer network although i won,t attend their events as its not for me happydays paul.

Glad you like it Paul. I sold both of my Harleys about 3 years ago but enjoyed every minute of owning and riding them. Truly brilliant bikes which are uaually hated by people who have never owned one. I bought my Electra Glide in August 1993 and had a Road King left to me in 2006. You will be most welcome to bring your Harley to MadMikes Gathering next year......indeed I demand that you bring it. I have a pair of genuine Harley leather chaps if you want them, just to complete your badass image. They are free if you want them. They will suit you sir.

Paul, Enjoy it!!! Had a sit on a new GP the other day; test ride next weekend probably. Pity I needed to be there at all... as I was getting part of my repair done; front wheel spindle broke at about 3mph on the sidecar bike. I shall have the chair in the air a bit less often from now on. Mmmm. ATB Chris

Alan, there is only one MadMike. There may be others who claim to be a mad Mike, but they are all very poor imitations of the real thing. Trust me, I am MadMike.
