[1962 steve]

can anyone help with information, I'm taking to bits the gearbox on my RE125 and the main shaft high gear doesn't move on the main shaft, can anyone tell me how this comes off. I assume it should just pull off but this ones stuck good and proper, tried heat, WD40, and freezing.

As no-one else has replied! I haven't worked on one of these but looking at the Parts Book l'd say, like other Albion gearboxes, it will be a press fit on the shaft. Support the gear in vice jaws and hit the shaft end with a hammer protecting the exposed end of course! REgards, Mark

Thanks to all, I've tried the hammer trick with a bit wood but it didn't shift, currently its in advice with one of those exact bearing extractors bearing down on it, I will report further on success.

Guys had to post it, left it fixed in the puller overnight, loads of WD40, came home and thought, nothing to loose, gave it a good tighten with a set of 24's and it gave, now nice and clean it slips on and off perfectly, the thrust washer also came off and is still a snug fit. getting the hang of this gear box stuff.
For Alan that's like a fast cat in a cat flap.

My hands bear the scars were i've punched a cooling fin or some such, To idle to fetch the right tool have tackled the seized fitting with tool closest to hand... always a mistake...

ALAN.. I have recently slung my old Windows Vista set up and replaced with a new Apple Macbook Pro OS_X Mountain lion rig, Marvellous piece of kit and will be even better when i work out how to use it... ha. Because i know not what system your using, can i suggest you google SCREENSHOT, followed by VISTA/XL/APPLE whatever you use and check out the tips written by those in the know... cheers gwilly.
