I'm surprised there has been no chat about the at least 30 brand new red Cafe Racers lined up infront of the Ace Cafe. If we hear about it in Aus how come nobody has mentioned it on here. Obviously the new importer is expecting a sales boom

I've seen the pictures of the lineup outside, Looks impressive Norm.. I guess like a lot of us i feel somewhat remote from the action, a very outside chance of ever owning or affording one..
Think i'm waiting for the first reports from the trusted bike journalists.. Motor cycle news are reviewing next week with Phil West, who's running around London with one at present..
I can only hope they don't slate it too much comparing with KTM's and the like.. Would really like to see Enfield succeed and attract another generation to the fold...
Time will tell... gwilly

The photo looks very impressive. Will the machines performance be as impressive too or is it just another gutless Enfield plodder that threatens to throw a rod or decapitate a piston at the mere mention of 70 mph. A well made cafe racer that will hit a genuine 105-110 mph and not get burned up by kids on mopeds would be most welcome, so fingers crossed.

Hi guys------------ great rolling chassis (shame about the motor !!)..so here's what we do}-----Buy the bike, (that'll help RE with their sales etc) ----- dump the motor ( that'll help current UCE owners with spares, etc), and graft a Meriden Triumph 500 twin ino it ( That'll please the purist Cafe' aficionados !!)---------- result is a Dick Strawbridge "Proper job"................Over to you guys for my lynching party !!!

Hey go Alan! You're bang on there matey, ditch the UCE (Useless Carp Engine)and, if I may make another suggestion, fit a nice 450 Ducati Desmo motor. After all, the original Duke frame and electrics will have rotted away years ago!
Then I can have the 500 trumpet engine for when my Tiger 90 blows a gasket trying to hit 90!

------------ actually, although some of the preceding may be a bit "tongue in cheek" that really isn't a bad looking rolling chassis, is it ?? ----- Someone on here a few years back came up with a bolt-on cradle frame mod....That, and a decent motor ( of your choice, sir) really would make a good-looking bike WITH the overall performance/ handling/stopping for to-days roads.....Now RE cannot hope to match the big players but here is an extension to an established niche' market that they could call their own ie}--- a COMPLETE factory based, customising service built around this excellent chassis....( just add the name ..RICKMAN.. to ensure success !! )....
