hi alan, ive always liked bsa twins i think i prefer the A10 to the A65 though anyway i,m stepping away from old bikes and am seriously considering getting a brand new harley a proper bike so the electra will be winging its way to ebay although my diesel is a keeper ,also joining the bsa owners club i,m not too sure these owners clubs are much of a muchness most owners like meetings and talk good stories but most of them are dreamers that won,t or don,t ride very often remember these are just my thoughts on the subject so don,t shoot the mesenger who,s been there seen it all a million times atb paul.

Hi guys----------- WELL, I managed to raise some capital in short order , sent an E-Mail to Cotswold Classics offering a slightly reduced sum for Cash-on-Collection-----but it had JUST been sold !!!!------grrrrr and crush a grape*** , etc....So I found this instead}--- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121158883482? ... 1438.l2649 ----------------- made them a similar offer of slightly less for C-0n-C, they accepted-- and I collect it tomorrow !! They've also upped the MoT to a full 12 months and promised to find some mirrors for my journey home-----which the BBC is predicting will be (Guess what ?????) yes, that's right = WET !!-------- I ran a T140V a few years ago and apart from the carbs forever going out of sync. ( AMAL Mk2 Concentrics) it was a gutsy mid-range bike...So I jumped at the chance of getting this single carb TR7 TIGER 750... Been looking at a few related forums and does this sound familiar??}---- OIL = 20/50, ATF in the primary, Great for bend swinging on minor A roads and all B roads, Plenty of after-market spares, engineering support etc, an appreciating, useful classic.........Which is where I came in, I think ??................So my No1. Bullet is now definitely up for sale, whilst the Army one continues to be built AND kept as the all-round machine with the TIGER 750 bing the new No1. bike in the fleet... Just in time for MADMIKES do this Autumn as well----------- HOO.RAY !!!!

Congratulations Alan! what a beauty! I am completely green with envy. In the 1970s I owned a single carb 650 TR6 - a "Trophy 650" and it was and remains the bike I look back on with watery eyes. Of all the machines I've owned, and there have been quite a few, that is the one I would have back if I could have one wish. It was fast, relatively smooth for a big twin, lovely to look at, and reliable - just like yours will be. Well done, and I wish you many more happy miles of classic biking! Tony.

Al, congratulations! I rode one of those when they were new(ish), a pal bought one that had been languishing in a Dealers (Roebuck Motorcycles I think) and it was fab. Didn't particularly like the bars or tiny tank but you could fix that. The bike got him the sack from the well known west London Harley Dealer he worked as a mechanic for, yet another reason to dislike Harleys! Still think you should buy an interceptor though...

Hi guys------ and thanks indeed for those very supportive comments...What a day yesterday was!! It started with my "booked" car driver looking like he wasn't going to be available, so I contacted a family member who agreed to deputise--------only for the first guy to suddenly be OK to go, so I now owe No2 bloke a few pints for interrupting his early Sat. morning activities at home(read into that what you will---)...And YES, it rained all the way there (140 miles), I did the test drive in the rain...NOT recommended on a cobbly surface.... and it continued to rain until we were clear of Cambridge and onto the A14, when is reduced to grey skies and a drying road.... My mate John drove the Ford Ka in front using the SatNav and reading the road signs which allowed me to concentrate on getting use to the bike etc....After an hour we stopped at a service station for adjustments ( of various kinds !!)---- fill-up the small American-style fuel tank from the jerry can and a quick visual appraisal of the bike itself... A mist-like leak from the rocker covers was all to be seen... All went well, with the weather brightening up until we were about 30 miles from home at the WEEFORD roundabout ( A5 / A38 etc) when all ignition failed completely....At the lay-bye we did a few test---- I had taken my Motorcycle "On Holiday" tool box in the car ---- but couldn't trace the location but did smell burn plastic, so as it was getting late I summoned the Insurance Cavalry ( less than 1 hour to appear) and arrived home at approx 6pm...... Mechanically fine with 3rd gear being a little stiff to engage at times and some indications of clutch drag....the cable need re-routing...as does the throttle, a different set of 'bars I think will help but all-in-all I'm well chuffed !! OH YES--- on checking this morning just a small drip under the g'box chain sprocket....The frame etc has been powder coated whilst there is a new wiring loom in place....It has the original Triumph Analogue electronic ignition which I hear on the grape vine can give trouble so I'll be investing in a NEW Boyer set-up soon...........
