Hi all, being paranoid about leaving the heated grips on and killing Bertie's battery I have added a relay to power extras, I now have an accessory outlet with 3 "ports", heated grips are on port one, 12 v socket for phone charger etc on port two and port three is spare. Original I found a wire (red with black trace) coming from the ignition key switch that is only live when the switch is on so tapped into that to activate the relay but found that with the engine running the relay was on and off like a yoyo, so had to find another source, well for now unless anyone can suggest an alternative I have tapped into the speedo light as I always run with lights on anyway, as far as a fuse box goes, well I haven't got one yet so the live from the battery has a 25 amp fuse and each accessory has its own inline fuse, to join the Positives together I used a terminal block looping the blocks together with 13a wire. I do plan to replace the home made bit with a proper fuse box when I find one suitable. My only worry, is the live to the speedo bulb up to the job of activating the relay without over loading the wire, this wire now powers the LED speedo bulb, the 2 LED pilot bulbs and the relay, the relay is an SPNO 40a Maplin special ?
