Exile, you need GEARBOX COVER STRENGTHENER (4-SPEED) in Accessories/Gearbox&primary/gearbox.
The gearbox outer doesn't flex much but it's movement robbed from the clutch pushrod and you need every mm you have there. Mr H also sells a complete strengthened outer cover but this cheaper mod (developed by folk on this forum) will do the job nicely.

@PeteF: Lathe, taps, brass rod stock, steel plate... I reckon it's easier to go for the modifier..! But, interesting article and thanks for pointing me at it.

@ Gwilly: We aim to please... Just wait till I start font shifting..!!

Thank you all, some good g/box thoughts/experiences. I had already previously frightened myself by looking at the outer g/box cover whilst pulling the clutch, (who needs a dial gauge!)Mr. H Stiffener has already been ordered, how did this situation come about? Did the imports make new economic patterns for their sand-castings, i thought 'we' sold them a complete Diy kit, or have they used an Aero(that's chocolate with holes in it not aeronautics)/aluminium alloy? Anyway back to the point, mine is a 2001 model, I have no idea when the gear-stick changed side but mine is the offside.I take on board all said, the relevance of a good working/adjusted clutch and I like a good dollop of Molly!

Well, we did start by sending them a kit, but then they had their own ideas. This saving on a couple of rupees worth of alloy was not one of their best.
