but can a Enfield twin engine be fitted into a Indian Bullet frame? thinking of turning my parked-up '94 350 into an outfit,if i can source a bigger motor.

In a word yes. You may need to make up new rear triangle plates over the gearbox, some Indian Enfields had a shorter down tube in this area but that's not difficult. There are quite a few well known bikes that have done this in the REOC. I assisted a pal to install a 700cc Meteor engine in an early 90s Bullet chassis and very nice it turned out too! Your difficulty will be finding a Twin engine and if you do expect to pay £700 upwards for a mostly complete engine probably needing work.

If you are going to chase a twin stay away from the 700 Meteor, chase one of the later ones with an alternator. You will also need to find a twin gearbox mainshaft or twin gearbox, and again the Meteor gearbox mainshaft is no good for the later twins either

well, twin engines seem to be thin on the ground..but i am going to view an incomplete Meteor engine tomorrow.it is an 'empty' engine, with a couple of cranks with rods with it,may be SM he said, with heads and barrels, and a gearbox with it.£500 ono.is that reasonable-ish?
as i'm not an engineer or mechanic, more a tinkerer, this may be too big a rebuild for me.if i buy it,i may be starting a 1,000 post thread for help off of Mark M and all the proper spanner-men on here!

Big difference between a Meteor and a Super Meteor and then you have to know what parts you are getting in the box of bits. To me sounds way too much for stuff you don't know what you are looking at and would probably end in tears
