James. may I repeat a previous comment? Thank you! here it is ,,,,,,,,,, "However in the interests of getting at the truth why not talk to those Swansea folks who I have found to be most helpful." ....... it is the only way forward if you are ever going to ride that Crusader.

Thanks, Bryan. I haven't spoken to Swansea but have sent all the docs to them and will see whether they ask for anything else.

Well, I have to bow to the wisdom of Barry Q and BeezerBryan! I spoke to Swansea and they said just send the usual form and the usual dating cert from REOC, which I did, and a reg doc came back within days. The sign in the local office said Swansea would process it in 7-10 days, but I didn't really believe it. However, they did it in five. It's just a slight pity they gave me a Somerset registration when the bike was first registered in Newastle upon Tyne!

I agree it is very frustrating and annoying when they do that. The original reg number for my Tiger 90 was sold by the previous owner (no doubt for a tidy sum of money)and then the bike was re-registered and I ended up with a worcesershire number instead of a suffolk number. All the paperwork including original buff log book and info from the owners club and register says quite clearly the bike was first registered in suffolk and by which dealer it was sold. It is bang out of order that the correct and original registration number should have been allowed to be removed from the bike. Although the new number is "age related" it is still not the correct one.

Eddie, reg is FAW. I thought it was Somerset but after checking i see that it was Shrewsbury. Still a long way from Newcastle though!

Hi guys ---------- HEY !! I could do with that on my bike... I bet when the time comes to get an age-related plate for my "Army" bike I'll be given an early Newcastle one ???? (Alan R in Telford, Shrops)....
