Hey
I have just bought a set of plastic tank badges (round shaped-costing GBP45) and am about to bond them on my Indian bullet using the evo stick.
My question is whether I should skip the backing rubbers and directly glue the plastic batch on the tank.
Will this bonding last? Or shall I use a ROYAL ENFIELD petrol tank side sticker instead.
Note that the tank has been recently re-chromed.(I will add some pictures of it on the photo gallery section).

Hello PAT, ---------- I've not done this particular job you have in mind as such, but from other similar types of work I would be inclined to have a thin rubber layer in between the badge and the metal of the tank.....It helps allow for any "undulations" or discrepancies between the two hard and inflexible materials that you want to bond ..... On my cars internal rear view mirror holder when we had a new screen fitted recently, the holder would bond to the glass------ for about two or three journeys------ then fall off !!!..... By bonding a strip of push-bike inner tube in between, they are still together ( after all this time !!)-------- With EVO-Stick you must let it go-off for the amount of time given in the instructions AND apply to both surfaces as well...........Hope that's of help ????

I agree "Keep The Rubbers" And Read the Evo-Stick instructions, (Cover Badge And Tank Wait Till Tacky Then Press on)..Use Some Maskin Or Gaffer Tape to Hold On Tight While It trully Go's Off.... HOWEVER I Once Had a Bike That the Previous Owner Had Stuck On With Clear Silicone (Cheap Builders £1.50) Some Metal Bolt on Badges to a tank with No Bolt holes RE, And They Where still on For the Two years I Had It (And still On Now) at Leat With Silicone (And To Some extent Evo-Stick) if You Make a Pig's ear of it , you can Peel it Off and Have Another go...So Rubber Evo-Stick, Metal Mastic/Silicone... Have fun...Craig
