I was going to find out as well but the extractor tool screwed onto it very well as I converted the guides to bronze with the 90150 kit so to match the high lift cams fitted , I dont think I will be using the tool again for a very long time as tappet guides wear very slowly . The thread could be British cycle thread as so much of my 1995 classic engine has it .

Some advice for anyone removing the tappet guides using the proper extractor. If the guides were as tight as mine were (even with heated cases!) I strongly recommend that you place a stout washer or plate underneath the surface of the extractor to protect the crankcase-to-barrel joint face. I scored mine to buggery using the extractor directly on the crankcase. Also watch the weak spot by the tappet inspection window!

Hi guys------ thanks for the info... I'm preparing for some Winter Maintenance on No.1 Bullet... It's a 2005 bike and the followers are just starting to make that familiar "clicking" sound.. I have Oxy-A plus several "industrial" slide hammers to call on...Paul I may take you up on that later in the year ??
