OK Guys - here goes... apaologies for the amount of info I am about to share with you, but I really appreciate your help! The new spring clip arrived today (thanks for the speedy service as always) and I have dismantled the outer gearbox cover to replace the broken clip. There are 7 pictures coming up (taken for me reference in re-assembling) so can anyone point out if anything else is obviously wrong/worn/in need of replacing? I can see that the smaller clip has split at the top (number 5)so that can be replaced at a later date.






























So my confusion is now how to connect the smaller end of the clip (number 5) to the foot control lever, short (number 17) ? In picture number 7 it looks like the smaller end of the clip fits in the gap on the foot control but then the fatter end isn't properly sitting on the other bit? I need some advice with this - there is a pin (number 7)on the back of part 8 so is this where the larger end of the clip (number 2) should sit?

This is a new endeavour for me, and in theory it don't look hard, but I would like to learn how to do this right!

Well after scratching my head a bit, and another can of cider I took the plunge and it's all back together. A short test ride was promising, will go for a run tomorrow and see how it goes... But so far, pretty good!
