Ok so now we have established this, back to IanD's original problem, there is no alternative but to fit another A/C regulator and no I don't know of an alternative to an Indian one, maybe Paul Goff might have something

I'm wondering if there may be a short somewhere AFTER the A/C regulator causing it to blow. Maybe by fitting a fuse into the orange wire at the back of the headlight might help pinpoint this. I'm only going by memory that it is the orange wire, but if Ian wants to try this route I'll check it out

hi guys,

i've just got round to investigating this problem again. i bought new reg/rec units from hitchcocks, but in atempting to change them i found that the old one wasn't connected and had already been replaced by a power box.
i thought i could just reconnect the new reg/rec unit but all this did was blow the 20a fuse in the LH tool box. i cant see this 20a fuse on the electrical wiring diagram so i guess this is something to do with the powerbox?
i need to get the bike running with lights for the mot on friday as i'm supposed to be going for a big ride to a custom bike show on sunday but the mot ran out at the end of june.
Please help me get to the bottom of my electrical problems once and for all!!

Thanks
Ian

Ian and guys

what are the wire connections when fitting a power box to a sixty five please?

from wire harness 2x purple, 1 red & 1 black wire
from power box 2x yellow, 1 red & 1 black wire

I know is simple to fit wire connections to wires but which colour goes to which?

Cheers
Paul/guru
