Hi all I have not been on the forum for a while ,but I am after any advice as to what may be the problem with my 1965 350 bullet , after going for a spin for a couple of hours I stopped the bike and went to have a drink , came back to the bike and when trying to kick start found the kick start met no resistance and was not engaging resulting in having to bump start the bike on returning home checked the kick start lever and although it was at the top of its travel , when depressed no resistance what so ever , any sugestions

maybe your kickstart pawl has failed just a thought atb paul.

thanks paul I think you may be right , but it will be tomorrow before I attempt a strip down , I will let you know what I find. cheers taper

Almost certainly the kickstart pawl. It only takes 1/2 hour to replace and it's worth keeping a spare in the garage as they wear fairly regularly.
