hello all,
just had the bike out since last December, bike ran very well, but front tyre looks a bit on the soft side, need to get down to garage and check them out. is 22psi front & 24psi rear about right lads for a 11 stone pensioner.

Cheers Howzie.

Pressures, sounds like a major problem with a low front tyre pressure, remember it`s illegal to use a vehicle with under pressure tyres. Why not buy a foot pump for a fiver?

32 PSI front---36 PSI rear; that`s what the workshop manual says. Otherwise you run the risk of tearing out the valve stem on the rear tube. In-depth analysis on this subject further down the screen.

Cheers.

I wouldn't trust a forecourt pressure gauge to be accurate.

Thanks PeteF, Not had any problems with the car tyres, but will take your point & buy a tyre gauge.
Cheers.

Hi Howzie: I don`t know about the 250`s tyre pressures. Any digital pressure gauge( the ones that beep when the correct pressure is reached) is usually very accurate compared with an analogue type. I have checked this with my own tyre gauge and found the pressure is the same.

sorry but i must say 32psi in the front and 36psi in the back seems to me a tad high i will quote from the1956/62 bullet/350 clipper instruction book front 18psi rear 23psi thats on tyre sizes 3.25 x 17 front and rear it also states that if you have a pillion to inflate the rear to 32psi they are for a clipper 350 ,heres the crunch i run an electra with 19 inch tyres of a modern style avon road riders the front i have 20psi in the front & 26psiin the rear,i don,t have pillions , over and under inflation causes tyre anomillys i.e strange wear just my 2 penorth thanks paul.
