Hi all problem I have on my 2007 350cc royal enfield is when the front brake lever is pulled it dosent release back it seems the drum on the front wheel sticks and when I push the arm the cable connects to .the brake lever goes back and the wheel is free again the cable is ok not sticking I even tried a new one so I am looking for help is it maybe to do with the levers and rod on the front wheel drum ?? All advice appreciated thanks hope I can fix it while Sun is out

dazza I suspect the brake cams and cam spindles are bone dry. lubricate with something like copperslip. our hosts shoe expanding tool part 98320 makes the job much easier.

Dazza, This job can seem straight forward and shouldn't be a problem, nothing could be further from the truth..

your safety depends on it... ranging from bearing seating and spacer fitments to simply securing the bike properly to remove the front wheel...

That engine and frame are quite heavy if not securely jacked... Dont wish to be a party poop, but can i respectfully suggest you get a savvy mate to help out.

Especially if you don't have the tools/ knowledge to tackle the job safely... sincerely gwilly.

Thanks for reply I have a good selection of tools anybody want to pull a seat up and help me with details on taking this front wheel off and lubricate the cam in the front drum as it is struggling to release sticking thanks

Dazza. Our host's have described such a procedure in the Technical Notes section on this site under Wheels and Brakes. It explains all, better than anyone could in the limited space of these posts. Good luck and as Gwilly said don't take any risks with safety.
