Hi Simon and Alan R, I'm al in favour of not using a gasket sealant. The joining parts just have to seal. If a gasket wiped with a high temp grease (i.e. lithium grease) does the job, it is absolutely preferable. Do you believe a solid copper gasket can make a tight seal with just a smear of high temp grease? It would be lovely if so. All the best. Jacob
