Hi
I recently bought a 2006 Electra X 500cc as a second bike. (Main Bike Yamaha Fazer 8 ). I wanted something I could "fiddle with" in the garage, and I think I have made a good choice, there seems plenty of things I can do to bring it up to scratch. I have been trying to find the best forum to exchange ideas, information etc and think this is the best so far for a UK owner, unless anyone has any other suggestions of forums I might also join? Also, are there any like minded people/clubs in the New Forest / South Hampshire area. The nearest I can find is based near Swindon but thats 75 miles away. Thats a bit far for my old bones to travel of an evening.

Nice forum though, and thanks for any advice to this newbie. Clive

Hi, thanks for the welcome. its a 2006 with 14500 miles, one owner. Breather kit mod, new sprag clutch, Wassel carb, can't think of any other mods. Starter Gear, and Big End croaking sound particularly worrying. Don't think my DIY skills will extend to big end, nor will my wallet. I was hoping the engine might be a bit more robust than that. I know it had oil and filter chenages every 1500 miles and the previous owner was a bit of an enthusiast, so I do hope at least the engine is ok. He passed the 2013 catalogue on to me so I can see there are loads of accessories and spares. I do like it and hope it will last a long time with care :-)
