Hey Tim EVERY one of those bikes I could die for! What is it about the Italians and styling? They just seem to know where to put the curves don't they. Mr Salesman come over here - where do I sign! Riggers.

i say good luck to moto gb ,if they are any good they will sell the bikes ,i think watsonian have had the good times from the brand ,if they only sold 300 bikes last year is it too bad for a RETRO brand/ bike? in one of the blackest financial depressions since the 1930,s when many manufacturers went to the wall i don,t think thats terrible anyway we will see ,i must say this though the majority of EFI OWNERS in our local branch are aged between 58/70 and the cues from yesteryear styling coupled to nostalgia ,electric leg ,and good reliability are the reasons why they spent their wonga ,i,m sure one or two will have something to say about the reliability element but i know of at least four efi,s in our club that are very well behaved including one that hauls a chair and does great mileages atb paul.

Fair comment, Paul!
As someone recently the wrong side of 50, there'll come a day when I can no longer kick "Betty" into life and she'll have to go, to finance something with one of those nasty button starter thingys!!
However, until that day......

Thanks Paul for putting the EFI owners point of view across/ In my opinion, an Enfield is an Enfield regardless of the spec and origin. I feel privileged to ride and socialise with all Enfield owners. It does annoy me though when owners of older bikes slag off EFI's without riding them. My viewpoint is, perhaps, unusual. I have a long history of owning over 50 Brit and foreign bikes including a very fast Velocette Venom and, despite being able to afford most new machines on the market, I chose an EFI Woodsman. After two very happy (and reliable) years and about 16,000 miles, I was seduced by a 'modern' retro - a Kawasaki W800. I took this to the Manx Grand Prix last year, came back and swapped it for another Woodsman! I'm sure that the Kawasaki was 'better' in most respects, but it didn't have the fantastic character of the Enfield. W800's, Hinkley Bonnies and Guzzi V7's are all fine machines (and yes I have ridden all of them) but they don't have that indefinable character of a long stroke single that is possessed by all Bullets, regardless of how old they are and where they came from! End of rant - happy and safe riding everyone, let's hope spring is coming!

Hi John, No offence intended, and I'm sure non taken! I was merely drawing a comparison between different models, but you've obviously done your homework.

As you rightly suggested, the main thing is that the brand keeps going. Unfortunately our friends in Brussels have forced many of the technical changes upon the manufacturers, including RE.

My 350 Classic can be a real cow to kick over at times, and as a I suggested earlier, there'll come a day when I'll quite happily enjoy the convenience of pushing a start button.

Also on the Moto GP site, check out LML Scooters. Chalk and Cheeses as far as Enfields go, but if you like retro transport in general, these look just the same as a Vespa I had in 1977, and a very cheerful pair of wheels it was, too! Mind you, if Vespa have stopped making them themselves, it's only recently.
If we can have new Bullets, why shouldn't the Mods have their transport, too!

Just copied this from the Hindustan Times:

Royal Enfield, the Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer, has appointed a new distributor, MotoGB for its bikes in the UK. MotoGB will take over from Royal Enfield’s long-standing distributor Watsonian Squire with immediate effect.

Royal Enfield signs up MotoGB

MotoGB is the UK’s largest independent importer and distributor for imported bikes and scooters like SYM, MV Agusta, Benelli, Daelim, Keeway and now Royal Enfield as well.

Royal Enfield has registered growth of over 50 percent in recent years in international markets and the UK being this motorcycle manufacturer’s place of origin, it is an important market for the company.
