Yes i remember the story on the Harley piston, problem was it was too heavy or whatever as it produced to much vibration.I think he was called Alan, haven't heard of him for long time.He featured the build on the US and Oz sites some years ago, think he sold it on ebay.jack

My `07 army 500 I bought off John Hutchens of Tollgate is quite smooth.Very pleased, thanks, John ! Does 80 (indicated) I would love a really fast bullet. This bike is very civilised `leccy start electronic ignition.Have had 350`s and think this just feels `bigger`.Lot`s of torque.Maybe it`s a bit special ,I don`t know,John said it belonged to a toolmaker and has some mods to the engine.I love it.Got a sportster, but prefer the bullet ! Misbehaves now and again just enough to remind you of it`s er heritage. But doesn`t let me down.

Is it worth it? - well I liked mine enough to buy it back 5 years after I sold it. Performance gain is huge, reliability is not an issue - just set it up right. Vibration if anything is less than a standard 500. I was a sportster owner up until a few weeks back, and oddly enough I also enjoy the bullet a lot more.
