Hi matey---- did you give out some info a while ago re}---Changing the Bullet 4-wire generator wiring loom to give "battery voltage" style lighting instead of the direct AC/DC set-up ??  can you go through it again, please or tell me the thread title from previous ?? Cheers.

  Hi Alan,

Here is the basic idea, how you do it is up to you. From the alternator up under the seat you will see the headlight A/C regulator These wires are red/yellow and orange. The other 2 wires from the alternator are purple. What you have to do is conect red/yellow to one purple and the orange to the other purple. That takes care of the charging wiring but I am not sure if the standard Indian rec/reg unit will handle the extra charging. I assume it would because there is plenty of earlier Enfields running around with the battery operated headlight and we never worry about fitting different rec/reg units to theseNow I have to go away and think about where you can hook the orange wire feeding the headlight to. I'll be back

 Hi Alan,

Tink I have it. Red/yellow from from the A/C regulator piggyback onto the red/yellow from the D/C rec/reg unit which is heading to the ameter and I think that is it. I am not sure if the existing rec/reg is capable of handling the extra load but as it is the same unit fitted to Bullets with battery powered headlight I think it would be ok. Worth a try. I think the orange wire is now redundant

Alan, dont forget the ac lighting had no earth, whole circuit is seperate from dc battery/earthing. therefore orange wire can know be utillised as earth back to the frame, fixed at ac regulator position. regulator being now defunct. regards gwilly

G'day(probally night ?) Norm-- Good Morning old bean Gwilli ---ah! there's a point. So, I remove and discard the AC regulator ( as there is now no need for it) and using its' bolt clamp the orange wire to the cross-frame where the regulator used to be ??   OK chaps----will give that a go thisavo. Hey!! ---- I'm just having a bacon sarny wiv tomato sauce an coffee. BELTCH !! (Sorry old chum--most unbecoming of me.)
