Well, SIGH! I suppose some of us are just plain lucky, and some of us are not.I have at least three brand new NGK standard plugs which failed after approximately 50kms, I think one was no good from the start; it would not idle properly, but fitting another new plug fixed that. I once had a 1 litre ice cream container nearly full of plugs from my 1969 Yamaha YL1 100cc two-stroke twin (which were notorious spark plug destroyers)they were goosed after about 300kms. If only iridium plugs were around in those days; another SIGH! So how many of you home mechanics have torn your hair out trying to fix a fault in your bike`s engine, but kept ignoring the spark plug: because 'it is a brand-new one', only to find that the problem WAS the new spark plug?
