I bought a tin from Mr H last autumn and I am now pleased to report that it has done its job very well over the winter. A little goes a long way and its now finding uses on the car and around the house. Much better then the usual WD40 types

I think we need a debate on which engine oil is best as an ACF-50 substitute. Personally, I wouldn't use anything less than proper mineral 20w-50 on mine. Dilute with a bit of paraffin so it sprays on easily.

hi ed i use 10/40 diesel oil, i found behind the shed when i moved to my current property i also oil my chains with it its some cheap make thats probably why the past occupent left it for me to discover with the rest of the rubbish including the shed which i prompley demolished and used as fencing as it was made from fence paneling i always squirt my oil from a trad oil can direct on drive chain on to a rag when polishing happy days paul.

The main benefits of ACF-50 are corrosion resistance but the bolt on value is the fact that it actively gets rid of corrosion before too much scarring or pitting! Old oil or WD-40 just act as a barrier by excluding the oxygen. For me, it's ACF-50 everytime.
