Hi everybody, should have mentioned this before my last post. Both of my 500 Bullets have done this. When approaching a junction and going down the gears, every now and again it misfired, coughed and cut out. A bit embarrassing! I do rev the engine while slowing down but it still happened. My gut feeling was clutch drag that was slowing the engine down while the bike was wanting to go at a different speed. Hopefully the changes I have made with the clutch push rod and roller pad have sorted this out but just wondered if anybody else has had the same thing or could it be a carb/breather problem?

Hi WALLACE------- sounds like a combination of, a) Your driving style (as it's common to both bikes),..and ----b) A fuelling problem......If both bikes are identically set-up you might try a richer needle jet on one bike but not the other..."Blipping" the throttle can momentarily put an excess of air around the needle jet ( remember this is already receiving an air/fuel mix anyway).. Keep to your same style ---- you're used to that anyway ---- and see if the modified bike is any better..........BUT, for any sort of comparison test to be of value BOTH bikes MUST be IDENTICAL to start with...Nothing less will do or your time will have been wasted.....
