Hi Alan & Gunda,

I Have worn Army & Worker Boots And Now Rigger (ARCO) For years and Had Many an Adventure In Them (Accident).
Point One: Army Or Laced Work Boots are Better To Walk In.
Point 2: The New Wave RIGGER Boots Dont Look Too Bad (Thats Why I Bought some)
Point 3: Steel Toe Caps In a Bad shunt Can Brake all Your toe's and Do some More Damage!... But As I was Told Twice "Ya almost Lost your Toes but in a Normal boot you would of lost ya Foot"........ Army Style Boots Tough But No armour...Work Boots (Mine at Least) Good Tough Leather, Steel Mid sole & Toe cap (Must Stop some Bullets) And High Leg Leather?...Motorcycle Boots, Lots More Cost and ?? i dont Know!... BUT: I Have Had 8 bad accidents in Army & Work wear and Lived to tell the Tail!... I get My Work boots free..(Work) So i am Baised and I am Not going to keep Changing My foot wear In a day... As Stated I Wear Riggers & Other work Boots daily.."AND I HAVE COMPLETE FAITH IN LIVING THROUGH AN EVENT!" Pluss or Minus the Odd toe....Hey Changeing Gear In Steel Toe Caps is a Nack to learn:Lastly "All Are Better than Normal Shoes,Trainers,Fllip Flops" But Not as good as £500 "Sports specials"................."Ride Free"..Craig

Alan if you ride an Enfield masquerading as a Brit Bike, your best option is to go to ebay and buy a pair of genuine Goldtop boots, or Lewis boots. The real deal, look the part, do the job, tough as nuts and often new old stock or nearly new turns up. Better than cheap stuff made in far climes by poorly paid workers.

Alan - handsome looking boots guvnor!

Craig, I too have sussed the knack of changing up into first with big toe caps... it's very simple really. I lowered the footpegs one notch, and where the gear lever stayed in the same position, the added height with the lowered peg means easier changing. But of couse I have to raise the pegs up again when I wear these on "special occassions"

Peter,
The cool trick putting it into first is to swing your leg forward over the shifter and pull it up with your heel then put your foot back onto the footpeg
