hi norm its about 800 miles i think although living in the centre of england there will be more miles to get to the starting point ,it will probably be about 3 tanks of diesel and hopefully i can raise so sponsership for charity,lands end to john o groats is far enough for me you can keep your land mass down under as they say,atb paul from blighty!

Paul if you intend to do JOG to LE by avoiding motorways it is about 950+ miles. I took part in the MadMoped run 2 years ago and so we weren't allowed to use motorways anyway. Because of the limitations of the machines we never managed to exceed 45 mph even downhill. It was a lot of fun and raised a lot of money for Help For Heroes.

i see that this thread has had 632 viewers so i thought i,d relaunch it ,does anybody know when this crappy weather is going to do one i want to get the bike out but due to ice snow and minus temperatures the old bones will not be going anywhere soon and i,ve still got 4 holiday days to take before april!!

Reading this thread I have to say, I forgot just how 'different' royal enfield owners are. I've missed that slightly abstract thought process whilst trying to fit in with 'the normal people'. By the way Grunda, I hope you publish your Lands End to John O Groats route so I can come and cheer you on, maybe even buy you a pint if you're near me at the end of a days hard riding.

------------ that's a thought. Will you be taking the "traditional" route up the A49 (or near to it )?? I'll try and get some of "THE LADS" to come and ride along for a mile or three !!

i,ve not got much down on the route yet but the set off point will be barnsley via the big knock rally in west sussex if they have 1 next year although i,m sure they will,i will hopefully publish the route ,got to get all my crap sorted this year then i,m free to start living again !!
