Hi guys--------here we go again !!! -----------ETHANOL in your FUEL--------- go to SOCIAL and look at the thread "First run with old fuel".... GRUNDA 12 has found "milky white" petrol in his tank--------- please do take the time to read the attachment I have provided on there as it gives a very good description of what's happening, why it is, and what can be done about it........Alas, this is NOT going to go away...E5 is with us already and E10 on its'way--if not here already in some areas...With this cold weather still with us it might be prudent to just take a sample of fuel from your tank for a visual check----maybe a length of clear plastic pipe with your thumb over the one open end.....

One reason to store a bike with a brim full tank - no air space = no nasty reaction.....At the end of our Big Adventure MKII where we ran on American E10 the tank & carb were emptied prior to packing in the container for homeward bound shipment.......The afternoon was hot, it was humid, the fuel drain was done outside under blazing sun, as the fuel went into the container it started turning milky.....Don't know what happened to it after as it was not my problem!!!..........Never seen this reaction since.

Had a look at mine - last November's petrol from Morrisons and tank was only half full - no problem!

From the tests I've done ordinary unleaded contains between 3-5% ethanol where as BP Ultimate super unleaded contains none. Perhaps this is true for other super unleaded fuels too. Until they start adding it to that as well I might as well avoid all risk of problems and keep using it. Bike runs a lot better on it as well.

this milky fuel is probably that colour from the garage as i,ve run quite a few tanks off in my short ownership only noticed milky colour due to mr h,s clear fuel lines atb paul.
