Having just replaced the gearbox on my '77 Indian 350 Bullet with one from an old British model I'm having trouble with the clutch. The push rod assembly appears to be falling short by maybe half an inch. Has anyone any ideas?

BALLS!!!------------ 1/4" diameter ones to be precise.... Some set-ups had more than one ball in between the push rods........... it might just be as simple as that ???------ Worth a try ???

Is the gearbox for a British built twin? If so, the mainshaft will be about 1/2" longer and that might be the problem, in which case your clutch centre will be too far over to the left of the machine and the primary chain will be misaligned as well.

The gearbox is from an old English Bullet but I believed it was the same as the the Indian one. Ballbearings seems the right idea although one mate suggested making a spacer rod..... whichever.... I'll get there. Thanks for the input guys.
