Looking for owners of the pre war 500J or 570 H framed Enfields circa 1938. I am looking for steering head cups / races . Our hosts cant help so I will ask here if anyone knows where to find them or what else may fit?

Hello FIRENZE----- if you don't have any luck getting replacement parts why not get your local Engineering company to make you some but modified to take a metric ball race for instance..... ??

I have a 1936 500 jf and i used a set of wd co or model g headstock bearings in the frame these fitted straight in I also used post war model g races on the fork yoke, the top one fitted ok but the bottom one needed the outside dia reducing and a thin sleave making for centre, but nothing to drastic, these should fit as your frame should be the same as mine, all these races are readily available

Thanks for the replies. Andy,as you will know the G and CO headstock is more substantial than on this H frame. I have some G and CO parts on the bench but on the H frame the part where the cups sit in are curved and the G cups have straight sides. Any chance of sending you a pic? .By the way when I started this project I had some J parts from Ian who passed on a bit of advice to me from yourself.Would be good to have your opinion on a few things.
