Does anybody know if there is any output differences between these 2 stators. I don't think there would be because they are both using 6 coils, just that with the 4 wire, 3 coils have been used for lighting and the other 3 for battery charging, ignition stop light and horn. My question is related to the ability of the Indian rec/reg unit being able to cope with the 4 wire stator running all power to it and then to the battery. Any thoughts?

Hi NORM !! ------------ this would seem to be the perfect opportunity to get our old friend LES H back in the loop---- where are you LES ?? and what's the answer to this Ee-lek-trickery question then ?? -- From my basic apprentice stuff I think the output is dependant on Flux density, No. of coils (includes the wiring thickness/turns No.), RPM,--- I think you've answered your own question there ie it's the same in total if the coil no's are the same--- irrespective of how they are internally connected or outputted.....

Thanks Alan, I have fitted several 4 wire startors to run battery charging only, about to do another one, but I have always fitted them up with a boyer powerbox being unsure if the Indian rec/reg could handle it, guess I'll find out soon enough after I wire this one up.
