Yeah Paul my Electra does the same. It came with the WS Highway Kit and popped and banged a bit from new, but since I fitted our hosts full Goldy system it does it more, louder and with blue Flames!
However, I also got more performance and noise, which as Bryan says is sometimes a good thing.
I think that it is all to do with it being designed as a lean burn motor and then we go and put big carbs, free- flow filters and exhausts (particularly the header pipe) and blank off the PAV system.
If it is not so offensive that you could just live with it? Sounds like a 'real' bike...

It ain't broke ergo it will not get mended Bryan, this leaves me in a quandry, my crossbred has now done 13,000ks but with an OEM piston fitted, should I change it before it breaks or should I ride it till it breaks to see how far I can get on it. It is running so well but as you know there is only a hundred metres between a good running motor and rolling to a stop

I bought an 87mm Accralite for it when I built it but now the challenge is on to find out how long the OEM will last abd this isn't really a hijack cause this motor has Electra cases

hi all thanks for the comments ,as stu says this is a real bike ,i,m not perticularly worried as my biggest single the 650 savage always did shot gun rattles on the shutdown overrun it was fitted with a BSA A10 SILENCER superb thanks paul

fitted a new home brewed silencer on the hellectra with flame retarder came to me in a flash!!top rort it now sounds like a 500 get in !!!

the blue flame has gone !!!just a nice burble on the overun now new silencer does all!!!all you need is a mig and a donor silencer thankyou and goodnight.
