I've managed to find an exploded diagram of the Miller generator for the Flying Flea. It's almost identical to the Wipac Geni-Mag used in the 1949 D1 Bantam. Although it's not the same as the 1952 generator, I reckon most of the internal parts are the same. On the ignition coil. One lead goes to the contact breakers. The tab on the back goes to earth. The other lead goes the HT lead socket. The two lighting coils should already be connected (by a lead) to each other. This lead goes to an insulated (from earth) terminal on the generator cover. The other end of the coils has an internal connection (via the laminations) to earth. At his moment, I suspect that the insulated terminals on the generator cover are breaking down. Thus all power is going straight to earth.
