All, while out last weekend Bertie kept suffering a floppy kickstart, the return spring couldn't have snapped as the kick start is returning back to its correct position now, but while riding it kept dropping below the exhaust....please does anyone know why this happens ?

Sounds like the spring has gone weak. Just replace it, an easy and cheap fix.

Today (minus three) the kick start on my 350cc returned very slowly. Like all the gear box oil/ grease had tuned to custard. Weird.

this is an old one,you need to drain the oil immediately, then flush and refill.
Probably to far gone but the kickstart bush starts to spin(when lube breaks down)
This is why the kicker flops down when riding
jack.
