Does anyone know the correct fitted orientation of these layshaft bushes. There is a longitudinal slot in the outside of the bush but in the cases I have, the bushes are fitted with the slots in different positions ( 3 oclock and 6 oclock)so I am no further forward. Can anyone help?

Just to ease manufacture I think, that is, to avoid having to ream them after the bushes are compressed during fitting. I put them at the bottom but only because I thought it was neater!
