Hi Everyone... Just bought a bullet atlast and still waiting for my provisional to come through... Still a long way to go before I get my full license and ride my bike... In the meanwhile any advice on Insurance.... Thanks in advance...

Hi Bullrider, I'm a bit confused! You won't be able to ride the Bullet on L plates, and you say yourself that you've still got a long way to go before passing your test. Is the bike going to be stored in a secure place such as a locked garage? If so, then I don't know why you need to insure it yet? Also, legally, I'm not sure if you're insurance would be valid if you're not legally entitled to ride it? Might be interesting to see any other readers take on this. Good luck with the riding lessons though!!

It may be worth going on Google, for: Direct Gov Direct Access or something like that. If you are old enough it might be ok with bigger machines. I had a quick look but when it started giving the bike's performance in kW I got a headache as it sounds like an electric fire to me. Anybody out there know how many killerwatts a Bullet is?

Here you are CHRIS }---------------- http://calculator-converter.com/convert ... ulator.php ------------------- As a simple remembering tool round it up to 750Watts (0.75KW) = 1 HP............... OR, in really old fashioned terms, those single bar electric fires were approx 1KW......

Hello CHRIS, ---- my answer for you was to "ensure" you got the info you wanted !!!...Clutching at straws or what ??------------ I changed from "Footman James" to "Peter James" recently.

BullRider, my experience of insurance suggests that Peter James Insurance is by far the cheapest for me with my classics and my modern. However my daughter who only passed her test just over 2 years ago is with Swinton, as they were far cheaper for a young person recent passing her test. The answer is to use the price comparison sites initially due to your lack of riding experience. HTH. Chris, Peter James is the guy who originally was the James in Footman James. he sold the company a few years ago, and part of the deal was that he had to stay out of bike insurance for a couple of years (normal business deal when you buy/sell a company). When his time was up he went to the market as Peter James Insurance and has been highly successful. He advertises in all the classic mags and you can Google him. With Peter James you get to deal with real people in Birmingham, who will really try and help you.....no call centre rubbish.
