hi john ,the vat and the postage are what pushes up the price also my inabillity to order everything needed in 1 go ,i think i paid 4 lots of postage thats my fault !!all the parts i bought were needed big end assy, very needed ,that was the bulk although i bought the stage 1 electra tuning kit,the electra petrol tank mod to hopefully stop fuel sloshing out ,various gaskets classic style tool boxes etc ,parts bought elsewhere i think this bike will stand me at over £1000 so i will have to ride it for a while to recoup my spending!! p.s i,m not rich i had a small windfall, wish i,d bought the new guzzi i was sat on lol .atb paul.

Don't you just love/hate numbers. Paul you are right to be pleased that you bought at last months prices. If I read your second message correctly you are saying that you would have had to spend £800 inc VAT etc, and an increase increase of £25 would have thus been applicable at December prices. In which case you did not do as well as you thought as this would only be an increase of 3.125% rather than the 5.454% originally quoted.. Like I said.....don't you just love/hate numbers. Removes tongue from cheek, puts on hat and coat and runs for cover. See you next year at MadMikes Gathering.

Hi Paul. Like I said tongue was firmly planted in my cheek. I know how you feel though. I hired a Dodge Charger with a stonking great V8 engine for 2 weeks in Florida. Eventually I had to fill it up with "gas". I put in 20 gallons and it cost me undwer $60.......about £36. My Focus costs more than that to fill. Despite increasing prices their gas is still only about £2.51 per gallon. Rip off Britain.....Oh yes.

Mike, always remembering when making comparisons to compare like with like.......Contrary to the popular notion that EVERYTHING IN AMERICA IS BIG their gallons are puny Little things equal to 0.83 of our Imperial Gallons or 3.78 litres in that foreign Napoleonic measurement system that was foist upon us........... ;)

Hi Bryan, I did actually do the conversion to Imperial full size gallons when comparing the gas prices. Why the Americans have 16 fluid ounces to a pint I do not know. I can only assume that they used that as there were 16 ounces in a pound???? Funny old world innit.

Just as a comparison we are paying $145/150 for one of those Napoleonic litres at the moment but on our recent AGM ride at one place it was $1.80. This changes depending how far out into the bush you go. Supply and demand. We've got it you need it, just pay the man
