Hi Everyone,

Just to give some background. I own couple of Royal Enfields in India (including a 1956 Bullet built in England) and the one thing I have been missing after coming over to England has been riding a bull.

So I have started the first steps to getting my own bike by applying for a provisional license. In the meanwhile I have got a few queries which I have listed below. Please let me know your thoughts.

- Is there anything specific I should be aware of when buying or riding a bullet in the UK
- Can you suggest me a good workshop in and around London
- Is there training school in london where you can take a Direct Access Test on a bullet
- What is the resale value as I will be leaving back to India in a couple of years (as much as I wish to add one more bull to my collection, the logistics will just stump me)

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hello Bullrider! I am also in London and have some ideas for where to do your direct access, also I have a great mechanic who has recently moved a little further towards the SE London corner.
Where are you in London? Drop me a line at [email protected] if you want to chat further.

Bull, you'll be welcome at Royal Enfield Club events, there are a few within easy Bullet reach of London, just let us know when you're ready!

Hi Bullrider!

Just a quick technical point regarding your test. Under UK law you won't be able to do the Direct Access test on a Bullet. Although the Bullet is/can be a 500 engine, it's not deemed poweful enough to pass the test on.

The easier way (which i did), is to learn and sit your test on a 125cc bike which will allow you to ride any Bullet straight away after passing the test. After two years, you can ride any size bike in the future. Complicated eh??
Good luck with your plans!!
