i,m thinking of naming my new bike insomnia ,as i was in the garage at 1.30am tinkering till 6am,then have had all day on it doing various jobs,i,m on the lookout for some second hand classic bullet tool boxes,as i,ve not got any on stock!!have just fitted a battery box,next week i,ll order my crank bits and other stage 1 go faster bits from mr h,hopefully insomnia should be on the road for the new years day ride out!!!!message for mr tindal,i,ve just been quoted for the crank rebuilding from a motorcycle engineer in my village,i,ll keep you informed ,atb paul

Does the Electra have a roller big end? if so then the floating bush isn't that bad after all. I've decided to stick with the original crank set up, there's no play so it's going back in the engine. What are you doing with yours?

hi chris ,i,m buying mr h,s stage1 tune up kit as the rod is machined for an outer bearing track unlike the standard item,today i,ve been to newark aj there was tons of enfield stuff but no toolboxes!! i bought a fair bit for the electra x devil bike !! now has loads of goodies fitted in mock up form atb paul.

hi chris just spent £654 on tune up electra goodies via the big h ,hopefully his great service will have my bits here wednesday ,then i can get the crank rebuilt ,hope the stage 1 kit is worth the sheckles amal carb etc!!!atb paul.

Decided to use the 58 crank and hepolite piton 'as is' just new main bearings, rings and cylinder hone.

Grunda - I have a spare r/h toolbox someone gave me from a 350... if this is useful to you then write to me at [email protected]. It has a lock (no key) that can be removed, if you are patient and dextrous!
