What is your favourite bullet type ,EFI , Electra engine or the classic engine ? i would be really interested in your views and reasons why ,

Hi Reds. I think that you will find that most riders love the Bullet that they actually own and ride. Certainly, in the West Riding branch we have an eclectic mix of Redditch and Indian Bullets, including Classics, Electras and EFI's. We've also got a couple of diesel engined Bullets and an EFI outfit. In this friendly bunch, everyone enjoys their own machine for what it is. Personally, I have an EFI Woodsman which suits me down to the ground. It is actually my second as I foolishly swapped my first one after 16,000 trouble free miles for a Kawasaki W800. It was a good bike, but I missed the character of a heavy fly wheeled long stroke single, so I bought another! You pays your money and you makes your choice.

hi reds ,i think john has answered admirably,i own a tweaked up electra with mr h,s big end conversion ,free flow pipe and amal carb with a silencer of my own creation ,this bike up to press is a very good alrounder with good turn of speed when required ,my second bike is a 406 diesel powered bullet that is obviously heavilly modified ,chinese diesel engine standard 4 speed box tuned to run at 56mph all day long and return 150 mpg this bike is great and now it has mr,h,s rigid rear end fitted it rides like its on rails for me far better than the spring frame and no bad back! as they say the world is your lobster when you own a bullet and you can alter customise till your heart is content with the help of our host obviously wallet size can matter although all my modifications except the rigid frame have been under £350 a pop so its not so bad ,but if your thinking all this is a bit extream a standard bullet of any genre is a great bike although a modicum of common sence and being handy in the spanners department does help.atb paul.

My previous two bikes were modern, had lots of electronics, catalyst exhaust, italian and expensive. The first one of them had the engine ecu fail which cost an arm and leg to replace so I soon 'upgraded' the bike. That one had an immobiliser which decided to engage itself while on a ride, thank the lord I wasn't overtaking at the time. The Italian factory was on its summer holiday and it took two months to get the parts and have the dealer match it to the bike with a computer. I vowed to go back to basics and bought an iron 500 which I absolutely love. Its simplicity is a breath of fresh air, I stand a much greater chance of keeping my licence and its admired by everyone wherever I go. It also seems to be appreciating in value, something unheard of with the other two.

Well I've got three bikes partially out of 'necessity'. When my companion Arthur Itis is making his presence felt by putting my hips in a dead lock, I make use of my Suzuki Bergman 650 super scooter (an amazing machine capable of around 110mph, with great handling). When Arthur banished for an hour or two with a codeine cocktail I ride a Yamaha TDM 900 twin, which is a really nice all rounder, producing around 80bhp it'll keep up with most things on the road and due to its 270 degree crank feels like a V-Twin. However, for pottering around the quiet roads of East Yorkshire, the dry valleys of the Yorkshire Wolds, and the quiet villages of Holderness, there is NOTHING to touch my iron 500 Bullet Classic. Its steady thump thump every lamp post, relaxed riding position, economy, simplicity, conversation starter, and gorgeous black and chrome looks seem to offer a relaxed enjoyable ride other bikes (including the two mentioned above) just can't match. Yep there's something special about these little bikes the Japs just can't even imagine.
