Hey,

I just had a bit of a mishap involving the loss of my entire tail light mount, indicators and all, whilst riding to a nearby town. I had headphones in, by the time I realised and got back I guess somebody must have picked it up as I was left with my cracked numberplate and a couple of shards of brake light. My initial annoyance has dissipated though as I quickly realised I liked the look of the bike without the bulky mount and there are a fair few options in terms of a replacement. Namely the miller style stop light. Taking the stupidity of this tale as read, my question is.... Can I simply buy a Miller stop light and use the existing wiring (thankfully left behind) and mount that directly to my mud guard? Any recommendations would be very welcome, thanks.

Miller or any other providing it`s for your model/mudguard,I would be thinking why you`ve lost the original (if same),my bullet rear light assembly is rubber mounted to accomodate vibration,was yours and is your proposed new one?

Hi Guys,----------- from an electrical point of view just make sure that the bulbs VOLTage and total WATTage rating in your new assembly is not greater than the original was..... This would be a good opportunity to make sure any earthing points are clean etc.and connectors sound.

Must be hundreds of tailight/blinker assemblies scattered around the world laying in ditches beside the road, fairly common problem

Nordicgloom - the options are endless, provided that you are willing to adapt/modify/fabricate, etc. I also prefer the less-is-more look, and was playing about with old bits of scrap from an old shop window display to make a tailight & number plate mount:

And if you want a seat like Peter53's I've got one you can have - don't expect comfort though!

Nowt wrong with that seat Pete! Even with the rear shocks set to maximum hardness, there is still enough give in them springs - my only complaint about ride comfort would be that the foot pegs are a bit high, but that wouldn't be an issue if I had a taller seat I guess.

Back light,who mentioned a back light? Just checked mine for the mounts and was ok,decided to remove the lense and bulb for a clean up and guess what,dropped the lense.Who wants to buy a 3 piece lense! Epoxy resin in use.

I had my rear light assembly fall off;

As you will see, I have an old camera strap there to make sure it doesn't happen again. What you can't see is the nylock nut and the loctite holding stopping the nut from loosening!
The camera strap can go, really.

Hi JON R ----- You might want to place some of those personal shots in a private folder ?? Just a thought. Hi PETER 53---------- interesting conundrum here. If less really is more then there must come a point, just when your bike is about to vanish from sight altogether, when it's at it's very best ??... Nice, lean-look, almost a long-tracker sort of thing.
