Lots of good advice from lots of people with lots of experience. Pity Riggers can't be a bit more positive. In fact you can get an EFI Bullet for just over £4K not £5.5K and the engine is somewhat more advanced in design than the the old "iron" Bullet engine with its 1930s origins. As for suggesting a Hinkley Bonneville is a better choice, well it might be if you don't mind a complete ersatz version of a Triumph classic - ie not one nut or bolt is the same as the 1960s icon. Personally I'd rather have an Indian Bullet which is indisputably based on the 1955 British bike

Roberto Sorry to be the bringer of bad tidings but when my bullet went pear shaped and bits of metal were found all over the engine ,filter, oil feed to rockers, bits in valve push rod adjustment casement, then the prognosis was not good ,I would advise NOT to ride the bike but with some tender care and work then you can still enjoy the bike as enfields intended ,they are still a magnificent machine when running well, far better than a suzuki, which are dare I say ten a penny(having owned one many years ago)when the posi drive lubrication was a new inovation, but never as much fun as the enfield, age only being a state of mind go for the engine strip/rebuild and ride into the sunset on a worthy machine.

Hi Norm I think you are possibly right we all love out REs but depending on budget some goals are more attainable than others ,it seems that as long as you love your RE then it will always let you down but reward you when running nice.
