One of these is on its way to Aus and I was wondering what info is out there on them. Apparently fitted with Inter motor? Any other things anybody knows about them? I'll probably have to wait till it arrive I guess

Norm, it's a bit (!) complicated! However, by coincidence Graham Scarth REOC Chairman has just written a good explanation of how the Super Connie came to be, how many (approximately,) were made and how it developed through the VAX Interceptor to the Interceptor Mk 1. You can read it in the current edition of The Gun. Exact specification of the SC is not certain but basically you're looking at a 700cc Connie with some mods which may (or may not,) include different cams and cam sprockets. Let us know how it goes, these bikes are never seen in the UK and rare enough anywhere!

Hi Mark,
it should be in my shed in a few weeks, hopefully, subject to shipping and once here I'll give you an update as to what I find. It is from California so I hope internally it should be ok. It has been stored for 30 years apparently

Nice find, Norm! Very interested to hear what you find out. Meanwhile I've just acquired a Series 2 basket case. Will I never learn?!

Hi Mark, do you have any idea as to when the first use of the Connie name was, this is supposedly a 1963 bike

Norm, the Constellation name was introduced for the new model in September 1958,the Interceptor name is less certain as it was probably coined by the American importers Coopers but was certainly in use by 1963. The Constellation lived on after the introduction of the Interceptor, replacing the Super Meteor as the cooking (workhorse) Twin.

Thanks Mark, info seems to have changed again to this being a Constelllation Galaxy, guess we have to wait till it arrives. Engine number fits in with the Inter numbers
