I have a 2002 350es and I put the electronic ignition kit on it. Had to advance the timing quite a bit to get it to run well. VERY hard to start. Is this fit from enfield OK for the 350 or is it just for the 500 bullet?
Also,the battery keeps going dead - after to or three rides I have to charge it. Have tried a new battery with same result. Is the electronic ignition and hotter bosch coil draining the system? If so. is there a remedy? Could this also be the related to the starting problem?

hi dean ,is the electronic kit the eureka? i have 1 on my 350 it works superb and have had it on the bike for 2 years no problems maybe theres a fault with the kit or you have wired it up wrong if you suspect its faulty put the points back on and see if your battery problem still exists,the kit should not drain the battery

Just in case the unit is a Boyer Bransden one, you could have the sensor coil wires reversed OR you have timed it using the wrong timing hole of the two....making the ignition massively retarded.

Hi guys and DEAN, my apologies for this slight Hi-jack but I just want to ask LES H a "quickie" re}--Boyer Bransden timing if I may ??--------------LES, it's a few years now since I last had dealings with the Boyer system and the vision of a black-D seems to ring a bell ?? ie Half a hole covered or exposed. My friend Tim has a C15 with a Boyer on it but no instructions. We have all the tech. settings via the Rupert Ratio manual. Is that the correct position to set the RETARDED timing at ?? ------------ Thanks DEAN.

Hi Alan. As Howard suggests, the full list of fitting instructions is available at their website. As for the actual timing, it is set fully advanced piston wise. This leaves the black box to retard the ignition at low revs and bring it back forwards as the revs increase. To refresh your mempory of it the timing plate has two small holes at approx 5 and 9 oclock position. The rotating magnet plate that spins behind it has red dots on the magnet. One has to align the red dot centrally in the correct hole to complete and set the static fully advanced timing position.

the electronic ignition kit is from Nfieldgear and includes a hotter bosch coil and heavier advance spring - took the advance spring off because the throttle response was poor with it on.
currently have timing at 14 degrees idle and it will advance to about 32 at full idle.
plug looks good, so I don't think it is a carburator problem.
runs good at half throttle or better and whren it is warmed up. main problem is the starting and depletion of battery charge after multiple rides.

32 degrees at full idle? something isn't right. I still don't know why people insist on using non point ignition on these, more money for no gain
