am looking for some assistance from the technical poeple.

I have a 2007 Royal Enfield 500 electric start and been having trouble with spark plugs,
been riding the bike as a occasional use and in the last year I have been blowing spark plugs like fuses.The bike will run for a short time and then stops, unable to start it I remove the plug, clean it to a bright clean look but to no joy ,then place a brand new plug in and it goes OK till the next time but I am buying spark plugs like sweets.I am using the recommended plug NGK BR8ES have tried the equivalent Iridium plug to no effect.Plugs don't look damaged at all.
certainly the plugs are faulty as I have tested the old plugs on a resistance meter and this shows a greater resistance compared to a new one.

been through the electrics changed coil ,but now at a loss and can't travel to far with out a spark plug or two in my pocket.

anybody got any ideas please.

Carby problem, jetting is wetting the plug

Hi Lee. I also run a 2007 ES for short journys and experienced plug problems. The NGK BR8 is too cold for this purpose. What works for me:- Boyer Inductive Discharge Ign unit, Sports coil, but standard Indian will work and a Champion N7 plug gapped 35 thou. Perfect tickover-starting etc and no coughs at low rpm.

I had similar problem with my old work Bullet 500 it was getting though Plugs every few weeks. I thought It may have been a bad batch so brought a pack of Champion Plugs instead since using the champion plugs I have had no more problems at all my conclusion was Id picked up a fake load of NGKs after reading a recent thread about fake NGK Plugs if you always get your plugs from the same suppler try one from somewhere else he may just have a bad lot.

P/s should have added also use fresh and good quality Petrol because that's another thing I found was causing the problems with my occasionly used Sportsman as its not used regularly cheap Petrols tended to go off much quicker soling the Plugs faster and causing rough running.

Cheers all will try your ideas ,normaly get NGK plugs from the same large motorcar/motorcycle shop but different stores sounds like i am not alone in this issue.
will keep you all posted on my developments

Coils can also fail once warm.

yep relaced the coil but has happened again to the plugs unless this one has gone as well is the problem further along could it be the rectifer/regulator???

And you've checked for something as simple as a dodgy HT lead or cracked plug cap?
