B4,
Job is fairly simple, remove the outer coverremove the clutch pressure plate screws, put the bike in gear, foot on the brake and undo the stator and clutch hub nut. Unplug the stator wires where they pass above the gearbox. Remove the stator leaving the wire through the inner primary in place and tie the stator up to the frame or head wherever you can. This is just to get it out of the way and protect the wires.Rotor may now slide off but sometimes this requires a puller 2 jaw or 3 jaw, but hopefully it comes off easily. Next is the clutch hub, this requires a puller, either make one or buy one. Once the hub is loosened, and providing the engine sprocket is free (in most cases they are) grab hold of the sprocket and clutch hub and remove them with the chain intact. There is a small nut holding the inner primary on to the rear of the case behind where the clutch was. Remove this. Then you have to remove the three countersunk screws holding the inner primary on to the crankcase. These can present problems because they are tight and the alan head screws can round out very easily. Impact driver with an alan head adaptor to suit works best. Now you can look at removing the sprag gears. Only thing on reassembly is to set the stator up with the correct clearance.Hope this helps

Thanks Norm, That doesn’t sound too bad providing as you say I don’t come across anything stuck fast without the ‘special’ tools. In the past I’ve just ‘gone for it,’ but now having been spoilt with most repairs being shown on You tube, and now not having everything at hand , I thought I’d find out first. You could have an Internet Hit or at least a hit with this Forum if you put this on You tube.! . I’ll let you know how I go on, although I don’t intent doing it just yet. Thanks for your help. Take Care..
